“ This place is wild! I’ve been here three times. My first two times I got the specials that were offered at that time. On my third, which is this one, I got a staple off of their menu. And I’ve yet to be disappointed! I’ve tried their pulled chicken, pulled pork, house made sausage, and beef brisket. Below is the OG SAMMICH! I ordered “fancy" which is with pimiento cheese & pickled red onions. With a side of macaroni and cheese. And it was everything I expected. It was amazing! From a driveway pitmaster to a brick-and-mortar, I am happy to say they are locally owned and operated! Please do yourself a favor and get whatever special they have on the menu at that time! ”

“ Came for a weekend getaway and this was the place for BBQ on the all the websites and I see why. They opened at 11 and we got there at 1120 and the line was already long. Typical choices for a bbq joint. But they had a beef ribs special. 20 a bone (normally they weigh it) and you got to choose which one you wanted. Amazing. Customer service was amazing from start to finish. There was 2 of us in our party and we spent 107 which we found to be reasonable for everything we got. 1st order was a 2 meat sampler with pulled pork-moist and tender 7/10 Sausage the texture was weird to me 5/10 Mac & cheese highlight of the show 10/10 Fries fresh and hot and came with a sauce 10/10 2nd order was a 2 meat sampler with Brisket-lean 8/10 Pulled chicken lacked flavor 5/10 Beans very very good 9/10 Greens you could taste the vinegar and a spice that was nice 7/10 Add ons Pork burnt ends 3/10 Beef burnt ends 10/10 Beef rib 9/10 We highly recommend trying it out. ”

“ This place has delicious BBQ food. My favorite was their beef brisket. Their ribs were really good too. I enjoyed their broccoli salad as well. I haven’t tried anything else from there. It all looks so good. Make sure you come early. As the day goes on they run out of various foods. ”

“ Okay so I only came across this place after Texas Monthly magazine had mentioned it as one of the places with legit Texas barbecue outside of Texas. Let me tell you - when it comes to Texas Monthly magazine for Texas Barbecue, their word is just. And notably too, I was born and raised in Texas and know what good Texas barbecue can be (either that starting from Rudy's in general, to the Salt Lick in Driftwood, Black's in Austin, or even most recently Goldee's in the Ft Worth area). I order the classic platter, having the beef brisket with sides of mac & cheese and potato salad then have my drink as sweet iced tea. After seating, I try a small portion of each. All of them are solid and good. I even try their house bbq which happened to really complement the beef brisket. Verdict? I'll say that this place is a legit Texas bbq place outside of Texas. It is slightly pricey but if you're in the Hampton Roads area and do want the Texas bbq experience - this is your place ”

“ I am from Texas, so I had to try this "Texas Inspired" BBQ! Let me just say, they did a really good job of representing Texas BBQ; we can even take some notes from them! What crazy decided that Smoked Pickles should be added to a menu? I had to try those as well! I want a jar to take back home! The mac and cheese was good, the bean were good, the collard greens were good, the meat (doesn't matter which meat -- all of them that we tried) was good! This place did not disappoint! ”
